I needed a tank bag for my 2006 Yamaha R6 that wouldn’t mess my paint up, would carry all my small items for traveling, and would stay on when traveling at a “brisk” rate. I read some pretty good reviews around so I went for it. Here are my findings.
1. Good solid construction as is typical for Joe Rocket.
2. Sticks to the bike just fine at 140+ since it is behind the wind screen. I don’t have a double bubble screen.
3. Holds plenty of my crap. I can fit a surprising amount in it.
4. Comes with a water proof cover. I had to use this once and it worked great. The water just beads up and falls off.
5. Comes with a handle so you can carry it with you, rather than donating it to your local thief.
6. It has three pockets. One for a cell/gps, one close to the rider for wallet and sunglasses, and the main compartment which I could easily fit a large Nalgene water bottle, medium sized book, beanie, large camera, and small bag of tools.
7. There is a rubber coating between the magnates and the tank that prevents scratching as long as the surfaces are clean.
8. Looks great!
If I were to complain about one thing it would be that it needs more little pockets. Having individual compartments for stuff would be nice but by no means is a problem.
The Joe Rocket Manta Tank Bag fits on my 2006 Yamaha R6 brilliantly. I purchased mine from tobefast.com for about 55 bucks.
